a set of two hand-dipped, 100% beeswax taper candles.

dipping by hand, layer by layer, produces a higher quality candle than those that have been poured into molds (and with longer burn-times). this very old practice is a meditative labor of love. beeswax candles emit negative ions into the room (like salt lamps), and offer a clean and chemical free scent of honey with no need for perfumes. the light they emit is very close on the spectrum to that of the sun, so friendly to our circadian rhythms. they tend to drip less than paraffin candles, too. i’m proud to source my beeswax regionally and from small apiary operations, paying my producers fairly for their “gold”. these are free of dyes, just the amazing color of the wax itself.

expect imperfections, they are part of the beauty of these handmade candles. in fact, (beyond wishing for a more earth-friendly alternative to mass-produced beeswax candles from health food stores) i create each pair of these as a prayer for and gift to the freaks, mystics, artists, and weirdos everywhere. there are ways to make candles that are more uniform, less wiggly, more “perfect”. but that’s not what i’m about! i love the variations in these, and i think you will too. they make an especially special addition to the altar space, date night or dinner party table, or bath zone. I will also say that though they are precious, they should be consumed with gusto like an in-season tomato. Enjoy the utility of them, and the wellbeing they will bring to your household. Use them for light in evening, your circadian system and electric bill will thank you.

THIS BATCH IS ABOUT 7” TALL INSTEAD OF THE USUAL 8” SO THEY ARE ON SALE (yay!), and come in a set of two connected by a wick (as this is how they are made). Burn them in a standard size candlestick or a bottle.
